Railay Beach Retreat – Great View Resort Review
26 Nov 2015
Tucked away in the hills overlooking East Railay Beach you will find (if you look hard enough) the Railay Great View Resort. Unlike the beachfront properties on West Railay Beach, the Railay Great View Resort offers a very private and unique stay –one that I was lucky enough to experience firsthand.
Accessible Seclusion
Those looking to escape the hordes of tourists found in Krabi yet still want to be close to it all, the Railay Great View Resort is waiting for you. This secluded paradise is only accessible by boat yet is minutes from the mainland and only a short putt around the point to East Railay Beach. Walking from East Railay Beach is also extremely close and is a scenic 10 to 15 minute stroll as I found.
Small Trek, Big Reward
Those that take the minimal effort getting to Railay Great View Resort are rewarded with some seriously awesome accommodations. Tucked in the jungle hillside are 42 beautifully decorated and designed villas offering stunning views and complete privacy.
The best part? The villas can be yours to enjoy for less than what you will pay at many of the West Railay Beach resorts – including their sister property, the Sand Sea Resort, which is in a great spot of its own, but I mean come on…
Close to it
After a lazy morning poolside I decided to see how close Railay Great View Resort really is to the sights in the area. I headed out along the seaside and within 20 minutes I was amongst the rock climbers and sand seekers of West Railay Beach.
Another 5 to 10 and I was at Pha Rang Beach beach, arguably the areas most popular attraction. Giant wooden penises may have something to do with it. I prefer to think it is the cave beach scenery.
Railay Great View Resort Retreat
After a day of seeing the sights I made my way back to the comforts of my Railay Great View Resort villa. Opting to walk instead of taking the Railay Great View Resort shuttle boat, on the way I stopped to enjoy a drink at probably the best patio view on the island – conveniently located next door to the Railay Great view resort.
I wish I had more time.
My stay at the Railay Great View Resort was too short. In retrospect I wish I had stayed there a few more days to enjoy the seclusion and the humming of the longtail boats serenading me to sleep.
